My name is Jack Morgan, I’m 23 years old and I graduated from Newcastle College’s Digital Skills Academy with a first class honours degree, issued by Teesside University in 2016. My degree was heavily focused on the 3D Modelling aspect of games design as well as the planning process, and some games programming.
For the past 2 years I have been working at DXC Technology (FKA Hewlett Packard Enterprise) on the Graduate Development Scheme. Whilst I wouldn’t say it has been the best experience for me technically, I have developed some key business skills such as; Knowledge of the ITIL process, communicating with stakeholders and clients, and also developing me as a person in a professional environment. I’m happy to discuss this further and explain my highs and lows.
I taught myself the basics of HTML and CSS for web design. As I got older I moved into more complex languages such as C++ and C#. I was the also the “Hardware Manager” of quite a large gaming community dealing with a Windows server that ran game servers, VOIP servers and a large community base. I then started scripting and creating maps for a popular “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” mod, Deathrun. From this point I knew I wanted to pursue a career in IT.
